Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage - what is it?
Indian head massage is an ancient Ayurvedic healing system involving the rhythmic massage of face, head, neck, shoulders and upper back.
What happens in a session?
Treatment usually lasts 30 minutes but may take up to an hour. Recipient sits fully clothed, and is asked to remove jewellery only. Using small amount of balm on the hands the Therapist massages head, face, neck, upper back, finishing with the shoulders and arms. Relaxing music is played throughout the session.
How will I benefit?
Much emotional tension is held in the shoulders and neck. Sitting at a desk is not conducive to relaxation of these muscles. This in turn can cause head/neck/shoulder pain leading to fatigue and energy depletion.
Massage helps to relieve these tensions by dispersing toxins and improving circulation. The treatment helps to unblock sinuses by stimulating pressure points. Reported benefits include, headache relief, release of tension, enhanced sleep, feeling of refreshment and invigoration, stimulated hair re-growth.
