Guided Visualization
Guided Visualization - what is it?
Guided Visualization is a very useful tool for bringing about positive changes in our lives. It involves running situations through in our minds whilst in a deeply relaxed state.
What happens in a session?
Guided Visualization is usually performed whilst seated, gentle background music is played and incense may be burned. You will be taken on a journey of relaxation which gradually changes your brain wave patterns from the Beta Pattern which is waking consciousness when we are alert, aroused or in a state of anxiety, to Alpha – relaxed just before sleep, Theta – dreaming sleep, and finally to the Delta State. At the end of the session you are gently brought back to full consciousness relaxed and refreshed.
How will I benefit?
Whilst in the Alpha State we are relaxed and our subconscious is susceptible to hypnotic suggestion, so aiding positive thought.
Theta is where we are in a state of increased creativity, increased memory and super learning.
It is in the Delta State where a growth hormone called DHEA is released which helps to keep mind and body youthful, can give feelings of extreme well being and "wholeness".
Reported benefits also include increased feelings of warmth, belonging and a general enhancement of all positive qualities as well as a marked reduction in anxiety levels and depression.
